VersiEdit Help Facility
General Information and Key Definitions
───────────────────────────────────────
Context sensitive help can be obtained
by pressing the F1 key after a prompt
for a command argument, or after
pointing to a command on the menu. Help
from the menu provides a command
description, while help from a prompt
provides a description of the keys used
in response to the prompt, followed by a
command description.
The most important commands to remember,
for initial use, are:
1. Help F1
2. Activate Menu Shell F2
3. Cancel Current Function Esc
The menu shell is primarily intended for
learning the command keys. They are
shown on the menu next to the command
entries.
Function keys are assigned to commands
adhering to the following pattern:
1. Frequently used commands --
unshifted function keys.
2. File commands -- Ctrl shifted
function keys.
3. Find/Replace commands -- Shift
shifted function keys.
4. Cut & Paste commands -- Alt shifted
function keys.
5. Miscellaneous commands -- Remaining
shifted/unshifted function keys and
Alt shifted letter keys.
Following is a description of command
keys, by command category.
